Ninth man jailed for abusing teenage girl in 2000s
West Yorkshire PoliceA ninth man has been jailed for the sexual abuse of a girl in Bradford in the early 2000s.
Osman Awan, 43, was sentenced to 13 years in prison at Bradford Crown Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to one indecent assault.
Anna, which is not the victim's real name, was between the ages of 13 and 15 when she was preyed on by a gang while living in a children's home in the city, between 2002 and 2004.
Awan also admitted unrelated charges of harassment, modern day slavery and blackmail.
In October, the BBC was able to report that eight other defendants had been jailed for abusing Anna, including the man who married her in an Islamic wedding ceremony when she was only 15 years old.
His trial was told he sometimes locked the victim in a cellar at a property in Bradford, sexually abused her and deprived her of food, education and medical care.
Det Ch Insp Vicky Greenbank, of West Yorkshire Police, said: "Anna's courage and bravery has been immeasurable; she has had to wait a long time to see these convictions after all these years."
