Police said an electric scooter rider was stopped "travelling at speed whilst holding a large suitcase in one hand and allowing two children under seven to be passengers".

Officers pulled the person over on Beverley Road in Hull on Tuesday.

The force said at the moment no further action would be taken against the rider and the vehicle was seized and would be crushed.

Privately owned e-scooters are illegal on public roads, with only public hire ones allowed in specific trial areas.

Between March and September, Humberside Police said it had seized 15 e-scooters.
