A woman has admitted being the owner of a dog that attacked a herd of sheep.

Thirty-five sheep died after the incident at a field in Assington Green in Suffolk on 18 July, and 14 other sheep were injured.

Linda Lawrence, 65, of Assington Green, pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court to one count of criminal damage and one count of owning a dog dangerously out of control.

The court heard that two German shepherd dogs had been seized by police and had been euthanised.

Judge David Wilson said that all sentencing options were available, including a custodial sentence.

A hearing is due to take place on 7 May.

The prosecution said it would be seeking a dog owning prohibition order and compensation for the victim.

Lawrence has been bailed with a restriction that she is not allowed to keep any dogs.
