Prayers were held on the street where Suhail Choudry was found seriously injured

A prayer meeting has been held for a father-of-two who died after being left with serious head injuries in an attack on a street in Keighley.

Suhail Choudry, 35, who was expecting a third child with his wife Zara, was found on Flasby Street on 8 February and died in hospital on 11 February.

Mourners gathered at the scene of the attack around noon on Monday to remember him.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Anisa Razzaq, who attended the prayers, said Choudry's death had had a "massive impact on not just the Keighley community, but the Bradford and West Yorkshire communities as a whole".

She added: "This kind of things has rippled and affects everyone.

"We wanted to unite the community and to focus on the love the community has for one another."

Razzaq urged anyone with information about the fatal incident to "find the courage" to speak to the police.

"We'd really like Suhail's family to get closure and justice," she added.

West Yorkshire Police said two men aged 27 and 30, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, and a man aged 33, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have all been released on police bail.

A 42-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in custody.
