Suhail Choudry died on Wednesday, days after the alleged attack in Keighley

The death of a man who was attacked in a West Yorkshire town could be linked to earlier violent incidents, police have said.

Suhail Choudry, 35, was found with serious head injuries in Flasby Street, Keighley, on Sunday, and died from his injuries three days later.

Two men, aged 27 and 30, who were arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail along with a 33-year-old man, who had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Det Ch Insp Matt Holdsworth said inquiries suggested "there had been a number of other violent incidents in Keighley" in the days leading up to the assault, which he said may be linked.

Police said they believed Choudry was assaulted in a "targeted attack".

Holdsworth added: "Suhail's family are completely devastated at his death in such sudden and violent circumstances, and we remain absolutely determined to keep doing everything we can to make sure that those responsible for his murder are brought to justice.

"The investigation is still in its early stages and we are working hard to build up a fuller picture of the circumstances that led up to the attack on Suhail in the early hours of Sunday."
