Three deny CS spray robbery at Heathrow Airport

Three men have denied attacking women with CS spray during a robbery at Heathrow Airport which left more than 20 people needing medical treatment.

Tyrone Richards, 31, Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, and Omoneke Whyte, 30, have been charged with stealing two suitcases from two separate women and using the noxious spray on both, Isleworth Crown Court heard.

They each face two counts of robbery, two counts of administering a noxious substance, and one count of affray following the incident on 7 December 2025. They deny all charges.

Ambulance crews treated 21 people, including a three-year-old child, after they were exposed to the spray in a multi-storey car park at Terminal 3.

CS spray is a man-made chemical used by UK police forces to temporarily incapacitate people, similar to pepper spray.

The incident resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.

Five people were taken to hospital and later discharged.

Richards, of no fixed address, Clarke-Butcher, of Mantlet Close, Streatham, and Whyte of Wydeville Manor Road, Lewisham, are due to stand trial at the same court on 29 June.
