A woman and a dog have been rescued from a car after it was driven into flood-waters.

The vehicle was partly submerged by the time firefighters arrived at the road in Maesbury Marsh, near Oswestry, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

The crew was called at about 08:55 GMT on Saturday.

The 56-year-old woman and her pet were rescued and the vehicle was winched to dry land.

The service urged other drivers not to enter flood-water.
