Ferries resume but warning of more disruption
BBCFerry sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire have resumed after two days of cancellations but passengers have been warned of possible further disruption.
Daytime sailings between Heysham Port and Douglas on Monday, along with all of Tuesday's crossings, were called off as the island was battered by severe gales brought by Storm Chandra.
Crossings have resumed, but the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said Thursday's 13:45 and 19:15 GMT journeys were at risk of delays of cancellation as strong winds are due to return.
Ronaldsway Met Office said winds of up to 35mph (56km/h) were expected through the afternoon on Thursday, with gusts reaching 45mph (72km/h) overnight.
Passengers due to travel on the affected sailings have been offered the chance to change their bookings free of charge, the Steam Packet said.
A decision on whether the sailings will go ahead would be made by 06:00 on Thursday, the firm added.
The island experienced widespread travel disruption on Tuesday as severe gales also led to flight cancellations and road closures due to fallen trees.
