Retrial in death by dangerous driving case
BBCThe conviction of a man accused of causing death by dangerous driving on the Isle of Man has been quashed and a retrial has been ordered.
Jackson Paul, 37, was found guilty of the offence in February last year at Douglas Courthouse but appealed against the verdict.
Deemster Anthony Cross said the Staff of Government, the island's court of appeal, "formed the view that the appeal should be allowed and a retrial should be ordered."
The deemster urged people not to speculate on social media and said he would "not hesitate to take action" if anyone acts in contempt of the court.
A date for the re-trial has not yet been set.
