Forecasters have warned of icy conditions as a result of rain and sleet freezing.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice for Devon and Cornwall.

The warning is in place from 17:00 GMT on Friday until 10:00 on Saturday.

The Met Office said there could be "some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces" and "probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths".

The warning said: "A band of rain and sleet, with a little snow on hills, will clear southwards across England and Wales during Friday evening and overnight.

"As skies clear, temperatures will fall below freezing leading to a risk of ice forming on untreated surfaces."
