Man, 86, dies three weeks after motorway crash

An 86-year-old man has died from injuries three weeks after a car crashed into a motorway embankment, police have said.

Humberside Police said the man, who has not been named, had been driving a white Mercedes on the M180 in North East Lincolnshire at about 10:25 GMT on 23 December when, for reasons not yet clear, it left the westbound carriageway.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He died on Wednesday, police added.

The force appealed for information about the crash, which happened between junctions one and two.
