Teen arrested for knife incident linked to robbery

A teenager was arrested on Monday

A teenage boy arrested following an incident involving a knife at a school has also been linked to an attempted robbery, police have confirmed.

States of Jersey Police confirmed a 14-year-old boy was arrested after the incident at Haute Vallée in St Helier, Jersey, on Monday.

Police said the suspect was also linked to a robbery on Saturday at 17:35 GMT on La Route de la Haule in St Brelade.

Officers said enquiries were ongoing and further updates would be provided.

A spokesperson for the police said officers had "worked throughout the weekend, following multiple lines of enquiry which helped identify the suspect and secure key evidence".

During the incident on Monday at the school, one student was reported to have a very minor injury to the hand. There were no other reported injuries.

Students and staff are being offered wellbeing support, a government minister said.
