Driver interviewed by police after crash on Strand

A 27-year-old man has been jailed for eight years after the van he was driving van killed a woman and seriously injured two others in central London.

Christopher Jackson, of Southampton, was sentenced earlier at the Old Bailey, having admitted causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving at an earlier hearing in February.

Student Aalia Mahomed died at the scene on the Strand and two others were left with life-changing injuries.
