The cancer charity that helps patients with wigs

Cancer treatment can cause hair loss, a side effect that many patients find as distressing as the diagnosis itself, particularly women.

The charity Wigs for Heroes helps patients access personalised wigs that are not always available through the NHS.

It was founded by Kaz Foncette, a cancer survivor who wanted others to feel like themselves during treatment.

The wigs can cost between £2,000 to £3,000 but patients say they restore confidence and offer hope during recovery.
