Teenager arrested after woman's body found in Leicester home

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found in a home.

Officers were called to Lincoln Street in Leicester at 17:59 BST on Saturday by the ambulance service.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old from Leicester made himself known to police in Peterborough on Sunday morning and was arrested. He is being taken back to Leicester for questioning.

Leicestershire Police said the investigation was in its "early stages" but they were not looking for anyone else.

It comes in the same week 18-year-old Abdirahim Mohamed was stabbed to death on a street a short walk away.

Police do not believe the killings are related.
