A man arrested in connection with a fatal crash after a car hit a bus stop has been released on bail.

The 57-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

The collision happened on Stanningley Road in Leeds, near to the junction with Armley Ridge Road on Monday.

A 62-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and two other people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said on Wednesday: "The man arrested has been bailed pending further enquiries."
