Newbury Wharf: Architects begin redesign of ageing quay
GoogleArchitects have been appointed to redesign an ageing waterfront.
Adams & Sutherland have begun putting the details together for the Newbury Wharf project after drafting plans last year.
A planning application has already been submitted for the first phase of work, West Berkshire Council said.
The project, which has been allocated almost £800,000 in funding, involves improvements to the public access along the River Kennet waterfront.
Plans include redefining the wharf's boundary by installing new hardwood edging and creating a "peace garden".
It is part of West Berkshire Council's plans to revitalise some of its town centres.
The authority hopes work will begin in mid-2024.
