A man has been charged after another man was stabbed near a cashpoint in a town centre alleyway.

Nottinghamshire Police was called to Low Street in Sutton-in-Ashfield at about 23:40 GMT on Monday where a man in his 40s was later taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-altering or life-threatening in nature.

Daniel Brown, 20, of Church Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, was later arrested and has since been charged with wounding with intent.

He is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 25 March.

Det Sgt Millie Gillett, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: "I hope people living in this community welcome our rapid and efficient response to the incident.
