Heavy rain floods Grade I listed church

A Grade I listed church has been flooded for the second time in four months.

A clean-up operation had only just finished at St John the Baptist at Edlingham in Northumberland following a similar incident at Christmas which caused the cancellation of the carol concert.

There have been no services at the 11th Century building this year.

Heavy rain also prompted a flood alert from the Environment Agency for Coastal Rivers in North Northumberland, which was later lifted.
