A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder for a second time after a man was found with a gunshot wound in a street.

The victim, aged in his 20s, remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition after he was found with life-threatening injuries in Wordsworth Road, Willenhall, in the West Midlands, on the evening of 23 December.

A 50-year-old man was arrested on Monday having been first arrested on 24 December and later released on bail, West Midlands Police said. A 61-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice on Tuesday morning.

A 27-year-old man arrested for attempted murder on 24 December has been released on bail, the force said.
