Bus services diverted due to icy weather

Bus services have been diverted due to icy weather conditions.

Bus operator National Express took to social media to warn commuters of disruption to services in Birmingham, Solihull, Willenhall, West Bromwich and Oldbury on Friday morning.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across the West Midlands until midday.

Met Office forecaster Neil Armstrong predicted the cold spell "could last well into next week " and "wintry hazards will continue with more weather warnings likely".

The bus diversions currently in place are:

• 13 Birmingham - Blackheath Buses will use Wolverhampton Road, Queensway and continue to Brandhall Interchange. Salop Road is closed, use Pottery Road, Norman Road, and Hurst Road

• 18 Yardley Wood - Bartley Green Buses unable to serve Holloway heading to Bartley Green: Buses will divert from Northfield High Street via Bristol Road, U-turn Bristol Road by the fire station, continue on Herbert Austin Way, Bell Hill, Long Nuke Road, and Genners Lane to normal line of route

• 24 Birmingham - Woodgate Valley North Buses will continue to use Quinton Road, Highfield Lane will not be served

• 35 Birmingham - Hawkesley Buses will divert via Parsons Hill and Masshouse Lane, Hillmeads Road will not be served

• 37 Walsall - Willenhall Buses will not be serving Stroud Avenue or Sandbeds Road

• 45 Birmingham - Longbridge Buses will divert along Green Lane, Tunnel Road and Trevol Road will not be served

• 48 West Bromwich - Hawkesley Beckbury Road closed, buses will use Castle Road in both directions

• 49 Solihull - Rubery, Great Park Buses will divert via Parsons Hill and Masshouse Lane, Hillmeads Road will not be served

• X21 Birmingham - Bartley Green Buses will use Castle Road and Weoley Castle Road, Beckbury Road will not be served

• X22 Birmingham - Bartley Green Buses will use Clapgate Lane, Jiggins Road will not be served
