A search is on to find an injured man and a shoeless woman following a car crash.

The pair were spotted walking towards Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, on Thursday evening, along Kendal Road.

The man, believed to be the driver, had visible injuries to his head, while the woman had bare feet.

Cumbria Police said a black Audi was the only vehicle involved in the crash, which happened at 21:50 GMT, and officers are trying to track down the two people as they "have concern for their welfare".

The man was described as having a shaved head and wearing a blue Stone Island jumper.

The woman was wearing black jeans and a white shirt.

Anyone with information which could help identify the pair is asked to contact police.
