A dispersal order was put in force in a city over the weekend due to anti-social behaviour involving youths.

Cumbria Police said it had issued the order in Carlisle from 19:23 GMT on Saturday to 04:00 GMT on Sunday.

It said individuals threw items during the trouble and that over the coming days it would work alongside schools and other agencies to identify those involved.

"We ask parents and carers to support this work by ensuring they know where their children are in the evenings, who they are with and what they are doing," a spokesperson said.

The force said no future dispersal orders were currently planned in the city.
