Burglars raid jewellers in daytime break-in

Burglars armed with hammers shattered the front window of a west London jewellers before making off with numerous items as staff tried to stop them.

A video circulated widely on social media shows two masked and hooded men use a hammer to smash the window of Gregory & Co jewellers in Richmond before pulling back the damaged glass.

As they scoop up the items into a blue bag, one staff member is seen trying to bat them away with a small box while another tries to remove the items from the display and back into the shop. The men then run off towards Richmond Green.

The Met Police has appealed for witnesses over the burglary which it said happened at about 10:30 GMT on Saturday.

Police say they were called to Paved Court at about 10:30 GMT on Saturday

The force added officers were treating the attack as aggravated burglary. No arrests have been made.

The shop is in Paved Court, a narrow, cobblestone pedestrian street lined with boutique shops, cafes and restaurants.

It has served as filming location for Apple's TV hit show Ted Lasso.
