Motorists are being warned about overnight road closures and a new temporary traffic layout at a city centre junction.

The junction of London Road, Black Dog Way and Bruton Way in Gloucester will be closed from 20:00 GMT to 06:00 from 9 March until 13 March, Gloucestershire County Council has said.

A temporary mini-roundabout will also be installed at the junction from 14 March, replacing the existing traffic signals.

A council spokesperson said: "We kindly ask all road users to approach the junction with care while everyone gets used to the new temporary layout."

The closures are to allow essential works, including carriageway crossings, road markings and surfacing work to be carried out, as part of the Bishop's Cleeve to Stroud cycle spine lane scheme.

Black Dog Way will be closed at the junction of Gouda Way and Worcester Street, Bruton Way will be closed at the junction adjacent to Gloucester Transport Hub and London Road at the junction of Great Western Road.

"We understand that road closures, particularly overnight works, can be disruptive," a council spokesperson said

"Please be assured that we will take all possible measures to minimise noise and inconvenience to nearby residents."
