Third arrest after man stabbed in town

Two people have been released on bail while a third suspect remains in custody over the Nuneaton stabbing

A third person has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a man in Nuneaton.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was found by paramedics with multiple wounds on Gadsby Street shortly after 17:30 GMT on Sunday. He was believed to have been hurt in what police described as an "isolated attack" on Attleborough Road about 30 minutes earlier.

A man, 34, from Nuneaton, arrested on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm, and a woman, 33, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have since been released on bail pending further inquiries.

A third suspect, a 43-year-old man from Nuneaton, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.

The injured man suffered wounds described as non life-threatening and remained in a stable condition, Warwickshire Police has said.

The force has increased patrols in the area.
