Public urged to vote for bostin' businesses
Bostin' Black CountryPeople are being urged to have their say on which businesses should join a campaign promoting the Black Country and its economy.
Bostin' Black Country is a business strategy which launched in September, kicking off with seven firms who represent the area.
Now, 18 companies are in contention to become the next Bostin' Black Country Businesses and the public can have a say in an online vote which is open until 20 February.
Votes from the public will be combined with votes from the Black Country Chamber of Commerce's board to arrive at the winners, whittling the 18 businesses down to 12.
It will take the Bostin' cohort to 30 companies, tourist attractions, social enterprises and charities.
The aim is to add new companies every quarter, with the view to growing a 50-strong community.
Sarah Moorhouse, chief executive of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, said: "The reaction to our Bostin' campaign has been phenomenal and there's a real demand to be part of it.
"The 18 chosen for the vote have all done amazing things to grow, create employment, support local communities and put the Black Country on the tourism map."
The organisations up for the Bostin' Public Vote are:
- Black Country Women's Aid
- BlackRook Academy
- Coinadrink
- Eighty3 Design
- Grand Theatre
- Keytracker
- Lawrence Cleaning Solutions
- Lord Combustion
- MoRServ
- Pippatopia
- Robinson Brothers Ltd
- The Mount
- The Regent Engineering Co (Walsall) Ltd
- Thomas Dudley Ltd
- Union Fasteners
- Walsh Funeral & Memorials Ltd
- West Midlands House
- Woodhall Products
Moorhouse concluded: "By opening it up the public, we want to get as many people involved as possible, getting behind their chosen company/organisation on socials to help drive votes.
"This will hopefully trigger lots of conversations and get the message out there about how Bostin' the Black Country is."
