A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with four separate incidents of indecent exposure and outraging public decency.

Avon and Somerset Police say the boy, in his mid teens, has been questioned and released on bail.

It follows several incidents all reported in Thornbury in South Gloucestershire, between April and December.

Insp Stephen Baines said the police have been in touch with local schools in connection with the case.

Insp Baines said: "We know that people may not always report such incidents, and I'd like to stress that we do want to hear about any incident or area which has left women or girls feeling unsafe.

"Your safety is our priority, and any such information will help us to make sure we have our resources in the right place at the right time."

Two of the incidents are said to have occurred on a footpath off St David's Road. The first, in October, saw a person expose themselves to a primary school-age girl, while the second, in December, involved a girl in her mid-teens.

Another of the incidents was reported in October, in an underpass on Gillingstool.

Targeted patrols are being carried out by officers in the area, while anyone with information which might help the investigation is asked to call 101, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
