Electric pole fire leaves 600 homes without power

Hundreds of homes were left without power after an electric pole fire on the A47 near Peterborough.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident near Thorney just after 02:00 GMT.

People living in and around Eye and Thorney reported low or no power.

UK Power Networks said 600 of its customers were affected but its engineers restored power quickly.
