The proposed site would be built off the A63 near Brough in East Yorkshire

Plans have been submitted for a new service station by the A63 in East Yorkshire.

As well as a petrol station, the site at Petuaria Way near Brough would also feature a drive-through coffee shop, electric vehicle charging points, a car wash and a shop.

It would be located on land west of the East Riding Community Foundation Centre on Common Lane, with access from the south via Stanley Jackson Way.

A decision will be made by East Riding of Yorkshire Council at a later date.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the proposal has received a number of objections.

One person claimed there was little need for the site due to a number of other petrol stations nearby.

Another objector raised concerns about a loss of green space as the site is currently open land.

The plans include the planting of 37 trees with many near the entrance to the site.

The planning application said the trees would "create an attractive environment and will soften the appearance of the roadside services facility".
