A betting shop has been left with substantial damage to its entrance after thieves broke in and stole a safe.

Cambridgeshire Police said it was called to reports of a break-in at Ladbrokes in The Mall, Bar Hill, Cambridge, just after 22:00 GMT on Sunday.

Officers discovered the shop had been ram-raided by a vehicle at the front to gain entry to the premises.

Police said four people wearing dark clothing and balaclavas were seen leaving the site in a vehicle and detectives have appealed for information.
