A supermarket has been closed after it was targeted by ram-raiders overnight.

Bedfordshire Police said officers were called to Tesco Express in Potton at 02:50 GMT.

It said part of the cash machine was taken and a "forklift truck type vehicle" was left at the scene. Officers have appealed for information.

A Tesco spokesperson said: "We're sorry for the inconvenience caused, and our maintenance teams are working hard to reopen the store as quickly as possible."
