Millennium Bridge to close overnight for a week
BBCA bridge linking two quaysides in the Isle of Man's capital is set to be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians overnight for a week for maintenance.
The Douglas lifting bridge – known as the Millennium Bridge – will be shut between 20:00 and 06:00 GMT from 9 to 13 February.
The Department of Infrastructure said the closure of the structure, on Parade Street, was for repairs and maintenance.
Access between North Quay and South Quay would be maintained via the parallel roadway on Bridge Road adjacent to the Tongue and Railway Hill.
Previous work on the bridge in 2025 saw a hydraulic cylinder replaced and work carried out on the flapgate, which from part of the water retention scheme for the inner harbour marina.
