Manager 'sickened' after £55k of stock stolen
Jordan DalesThe manager of an independent sports nutrition company said stock worth at least £55,000 was stolen during a break-in.
Joe Stevenson, from Discount Supplements, on Clay Street, Hull, said large quantities of XL Nutrition Whey protein - used for post-workout recovery and muscle growth - was among several products taken during the raid on Sunday morning.
He said: "It was sickening seeing the CCTV and the casual attitude of them just walking round the warehouse and taking whatever they wanted."
A Humberside Police spokesperson confirmed officers were investigating.
Jordan DalesMr Stevenson said a colleague discovered the break-in after going to collect some pallets.
As well as whey protein, a number of other powders and capsules were stolen, he said.
Mr Stevenson added: "It's a crying shame because we've been struggling anyway. We've had a tough couple of years because everyone is feeling the pinch."
Jordan DalesIn response to the burglary, Mr Stevenson said the firm was considering installing additional CCTV.
A police spokesperson said: "It is reported forced entry was made into the premises, allegedly causing damage to the exterior of the building and items are also believed to have been stolen."
