The Herald Printers site has remained unoccupied for more than 20 years

Plans have been submitted to demolish a former printers in Whitchurch, Shropshire, and turn it into a residential development.

Six houses and 15 apartments at the site of Herald Printers would be developed under the proposals.

The site has been unused for more than 20 years and is in significant decline.

The buildings have been neglected, with a lot of water ingress and dilapidation internally, the application shows.

According to planning documents, all of the parking would be located as close to the entrace as possible to limit cars and pedestrians having to navigate the steeper slope towards the lower end of site.

Compliant steps would also be provided to the entrances of the proposed dwellings, they added.

The layout, scale and landscaping of the proposed scheme was previously approved in 2019.
