Housing development plans submitted for town
Shropshire County CouncilAn application has been submitted to build up to 62 homes on the outskirts of Whitchurch in Shropshire.
The outline application is for land north of Edgeley Road, close to Whitchurch Rugby Club.
In the design and access statement, Michael Lloyd, of Berrys, said the proposed layout would consist of a mixture of two to five bedroom houses.
He added that creating a protected habitat buffer near a brook had been an integral part of the approach to determine where best to allocate development within the site.
"There will be some limited removal of trees and vegetation along the frontage to Edgeley Road to accommodate the new access points," he added.
The main northern part of the site will be accessed via a new access road.
Meanwhile, the houses to the south of the central brook will be accessed via two further smaller new access points off Edgeley Road, one of which will be a private road.
"Care has been taken within the scheme to ensure that the pedestrian and cycle links in and around the site are enhanced," he said in the design statement.
