Search launched after unoccupied fishing boat washes ashore

A search is ongoing after an unoccupied creel boat washed ashore in Aberdeenshire.

Police Scotland said the fishing vessel ran aground near Inverbervie Beach, at about 11:15 on Saturday.

The force confirmed officers were working alongside a coastguard helicopter and a fixed wing aircraft.

Coastguard rescue teams from Montrose, Stonehaven, Arbroath and Aberdeen are involved in the operation.

Lifeboats from Arbroath, Montrose and Stonehaven are also providing assistance.
