The incident happened on Morecambe Road in Lancaster, Lancashire Police said

Two people have been seriously injured in a crash involving two vehicles and a pedestrian over the Easter weekend.

Lancashire Police said they were called to Morecambe Road in Lancaster at 18:26 BST on Good Friday.

A Chevrolet Spark Plus travelling towards Greyhound Bridge Road hit a stationary Kia Ceed at the traffic lights, with the Kia then hitting a woman on the crossing, the force said.

She sustained a serious leg injury, while a passenger in the Chevrolet suffered a number of serious injuries and both women were taken to hospital. The Kia driver had minor injuries.

A police spokesperson said the Chevrolet passenger was in a serious but stable condition.

Sgt Bex Price said: "This collision has led to people being left with some very serious injuries and my thoughts are with all those impacted by it."

The road was closed for several hours while investigation work was carried out, but has since re-opened.

Price appealed for anyone with information or video footage to contact them.
