Several roads have been closed in Lancaster city centre after the wall of a house partially collapsed on to a parked car.

The wall, on the side of the Kwik Fit car park on Thurnham Street, crushed a car on the car park on Thursday evening, Lancashire Police said.

No-one has been injured, but the surrounding roads have been closed while structural engineers assess the damage.

Thurnham Street is closed at the junction of George Street, there is a diversion in place via King Street on to George Street and Marton Street at the junction with Penny Street is closed with traffic diverted towards George Street.
