The shooting happened on Christmas Day on Wilfred Drive in Sheffield

A man has been charged in connection with a drive-by shooting on Christmas Day which left a man in critical condition.

The 20-year-old victim was shot in the chest just before 23:30 GMT on Wilfred Drive in Darnall, Sheffield.

Raheel Mahmood, 23, of Elmham Road, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life or allow another to do so.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed he had been remanded into custody to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
