A self-proclaimed Neo-Nazi has been filmed shouting "Heil Hitler" at a march while speaking to Jewish counter-protesters.

Ryan Ferguson attended the march in Bristol on Saturday, which was organised by a group called Bristol Patriots, whose website says it aims to "Get Starmer out and stop the boats". About 40 members attended.

About 200 counter-protesters turned up and disorder broke out between the two sides, police said. Six people were arrested.

A video widely circulating on social media showed Ferguson shouting over a police line at Jewish counter-protesters and repeatedly shouting "Heil Hitler". Avon and Somerset Police said it was investigating the video.

The clip shows Ferguson, who has become a well-known figure at similar rallies, shouting antisemitic abuse at two Jewish people on the counter-protest side.

He also repeatedly claims what he is saying is "not an offence" in the footage.

A statement from Bristol Patriots, which organised the march, said: "We are aware of some of the content currently circulating online; we want to be clear that this does not represent what Bristol Patriots is about.

"While everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, many of the views displayed on Saturday do not align with our movement."

Avon and Somerset Police said officers were aware of the video and are carrying out an investigation into the "alleged hate crimes".

"Four people have come forward to report the incident to us who attended the protest, and two further people who saw the video online," they said.

"No arrests have been made, but our enquiries are continuing at pace."

Bristol commander Ch Supt Paul Wigginton added: "There is no place for hate in Avon and Somerset and we will not tolerate this type of behaviour on our streets.

"We encourage anyone who witnessed other incidents to come forward as soon as possible if you haven't already spoken with the police, including those with any related footage."

Six arrests were made at the protest, police said. Four of those arrested have been released on bail, one person was de-arrested and will be spoken to at a later date, and the sixth was released without charge.
