The junction in Wallasey is known to be an accident hotspot

People in Wirral are being asked for their views on proposals designed to improve road safety at an accident blackspot.

There have been regular reports of crashes and near misses on Leasowe Road in Wallasey, at its junction with Greenleas Road and Cross Lane.

Wirral Council has allocated £150,000 to make improvements, including adding clear signs for right-turning traffic and pedestrian crossings on all four points of the junction.

Local Conservative councillor Ian Lewis, who has been involved in a 10-year campaign to get the changes brought in, said visibility was a key issue at the junction.

Comments on the proposals can be submitted online on the Wirral Council website by 20 March or in writing to Paul Traynor, assistant director, Neighbourhood Services, PO Box 290, Brighton Street, Wallasey CH27 9FQ.
