Julia Gregory/BBCArrests have been made after two men were assaulted outside Guildford railway station.
Surrey Police said it was called to an incident on Walnut Tree Close just before 04:00 GMT on Thursday.
The injured pair, both in their 20s, were walking to catch a train when they were threatened and attacked by a group of six teenagers.
Four teenagers are in custody on suspicion of two counts of assault causing grievous bodily harm, including a 17-year-old boy from Guildford, an 18-year-old man from Ash, a man from Guildford, also 18, and a Woking man, 19.
A fifth man and a woman are also being sought, both of whom are said to be in the same age range as those arrested, police said.
In addition, one of the men in the group was described as having worn a blue quarter zip jacket and balaclava.
A cordon was put in place outside the train station following the incident, while a number of officers remained in the area afterwards.
Det Insp Sophie Bayman said: "I understand the significant police presence outside Guildford railway station may have caused concern and we are working hard to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
"We are looking to speak with anyone who was in the area in the early hours who may have witnessed the assault, or has dashcam footage that could help our investigation."
She added that the force particularly wanted to speak with "any taxi drivers who were working in Guildford at the time".
