Ex-police officer jailed for coercing woman
Lancashire PoliceA former Lancashire Police officer has been jailed after he pleaded guilty to engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour and using a police computer without authorisation.
Michael Harvey, 64, was sentenced to 30 months at Preston Crown Court.
During his trial, prosecutor Emma Kehoe said he had already admitted "using police systems" to look up the complainant after first meeting her in a supermarket car park in the early 2010s.
Harvey, of Skelmersdale, pleaded guilty to two counts of causing a computer to perform a function to secure/enable unauthorised access to a programme or data and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour in November. He was cleared of three counts of rape.
