A serving police officer has pleaded not guilty to stealing cash, jewellery and a drill from a home following a drugs raid.

PC Robert Davies, 49, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday to deny three counts of theft, all connected to his duties.

Two of the charges allege that the Warwickshire Police officer, from Alcester, Warwickshire, stole cash, jewellery and a power tool from an address in Redditch, Worcestershire, in November 2023.

The third charge alleged that Davies stole £180 in cash "belonging to the Crown" in a separate incident in February in Alcester.

Judge Peter Cooke gave Davies bail and told him he would face a three-day trial at the same court on 30 May 2028.

A previous hearing was told the defendant was a constable with 21 years of service and was alleged to have committed theft while working as an exhibits officer.
