More than 70 firefighters have tackled a fire overnight at a West Midlands commercial unit.

Fourteen fire engines responded to the blaze on West Works Way, Longbridge, Birmingham, after crews were alerted at about 22:35 BST on Wednesday.

West Midlands Fire Service said no casualties or injuries were reported and officers had made "good progress" extinguishing the flames.

Seventy-five firefighters fought the fire at its peak but operations were scaled down significantly on Thursday morning.

The fire service said three fire engines remained at the steel-frame and metal-sheeting building while crews continued to damp down any hotspots.

A structural engineer is also in at the site, the service added.
