The family of a man who died in a head-on crash in East Yorkshire at the weekend have paid tribute to him, calling him their "whole world".

David Evans, 55, and Patrick Shaughnessy, 27, who also died, were in a Land Rover that collided with a Ford Transit on the A614, near Holme-on-Spalding Moor, at about 22:00 GMT on Sunday.

In a tribute released by Humberside Police, his family described him as "the craziest, funniest man you could ever meet", adding it was impossible not to love him.

"Dave, known to so many as Devis, was my whole world. He was my rock, my soulmate, and my best friend. He wanted to get married this year and had big plans for us, and with his children," it read.

"Dave had an infectious aura and could light up any room the moment he walked in," the tribute continued.

"No matter how bad your day was, Dave would always find a way to make you laugh."

Shaughnessy's family released their own tribute on Tuesday, saying: "His kindness, laughter and fierce love for his family and friends will be carried in our hearts forever."

The van driver, a 31-year-old man, was taken to hospital with injuries described as "life-changing", police said.

Police appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
