Two more arrested after teenager's fatal stabbing
West Midlands PoliceTwo people have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, as police appeal for information on the murder of an 18-year-old man.
Michael Ababio was stabbed outside Foleshill Library on Broad Street, Coventry, at about 21:40 GMT on Sunday. He was pronounced dead in the early hours of Monday.
West Midlands Police said a 42-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested overnight and remained in custody.
A 19-year-old man who was found nearby with stab wounds was taken to hospital and initially arrested on suspicion of murder. Police said he had been de-arrested on that charge but remained in custody on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Police said several items of evidence had been recovered while carrying out warrants, and added that they were continuing to search for other suspects.
Det Supt Jim Munro, from the force's homicide team, said: "This is a complex enquiry involving a number of people who were at the scene, and we are relentlessly working to identify and arrest them.
"For the sake of Michael's family, I would urge people to get in touch with any information they have."
Police said they were also investigating a second incident on nearby Foleshill Road about 20 minutes after Mr Ababio was stabbed, which they do not believe is directly related. A man has been charged with assault in connection with that incident and was remanded in custody.
Videos of both incidents have been shared on social media and private messaging apps, with police urging people not to circulate the footage.
West Midlands Police asked anyone with information to contact them.
