An 18-year-old man has died after he was found with serious stab wounds in Coventry.

The victim was declared dead in hospital after being discovered by West Midlands Police officers called to reports of disorder outside Foleshill Library on Broad Street, at about 2140 GMT on Sunday.

A second person was later found outside a takeaway chicken shop with slash wounds to his hand and arm.

Police say a 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

This is the second fatal stabbing in the West Midlands in less than a week.

Zeshan Afzal, 18 and from Smethwick, was stabbed to death outside a mosque on Friday night.

West Midlands Police say they are not linking the fatal attacks and both investigations are in the early stages.
