Two arrested after city street stabbing

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man aged in in his 20s was attacked in Coventry.

The victim, who suffered serious stab wounds, was found after officers were called to Clay Lane close to Richmond Street, at about 19:30 GMT on Tuesday night, West Midlands Police said. He is being treated in hospital.

Two men, both aged 23, were later detained on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody.

Det Insp Sherrie Kimberley said there was nothing to suggest the attack was connected to the fatal stabbing of Michael Abadio, on Broad Street in the city, on Sunday night.
